Fall Treats for Your Feet
Fall is here! Have you ever wondered how you can treat your feet this season, too? The summer may be filled with trips to the beach or even the nail salon. Taking care of our feet during the summer seems like a mandatory move. Who wants to show their toes when they are not at their best?
Well, to the doctors at PodiatryCare, PC and the Heel Pain Center, fall foot care matters, too. There are ways to show your feet some TLC as the temperatures become cooler and the leaves begin to fall. Remember, how you care for your feet impacts your overall health, too. Paying attention to changes in your feet may signal something more happening throughout your body. Think of diabetes or heart disease, for example.
Follow along for three ways to treat your feet:
Choose support or style
If you are deciding between support and style, support should always win. Putting your feet first during shoe selection is one big way to show how much you care. Regardless of how amazing the shoe looks on your feet, you have to consider how your feet feel about the boots, sneakers, or flats you choose for the fall.
Check-in on your feet
You may not be exposing your toes all the time, but they still need some care. Take time to look at your feet. We always recommend daily foot inspections to help you stay on top of foot conditions. Prevention is the best way to treat a condition and get the best results. Look for changes to your skin, too.
Cancel only as a last option
If you have a podiatry appointment this fall, please keep it. Prioritize these appointments in the same way you would for a dentist appointment or an annual physical. Show your feet how much you care by bringing them to a specialist. Allow us to check in on your feet and provide recommendations to keep your feet happy and healthy.
This fall, treat your feet. Don’t forget to look down or consider the many ways your feet need your support to keep going. We’re here to help you and your family.
