A school idea
Charles Brannock is the inventor, and his big idea began in college. While attending Syracuse University, he decided that he wanted to create a better way to measure the foot. Previously, people would use a block of wood that had been measured. The accuracy was far from great. It would take a few years for Brannock to settle on a prototype, but he eventually found success. He later patented the device and created a company to build his invention. We are all grateful he pushed forward with his idea.
Supporting the troops
During World War II, the US Army enlisted Brannock’s help. They wanted to make sure that each soldier had the right size boots. The Brannock Device came to the rescue, and Brannock also introduced his device to the manufacturing facilities. Today, more than 1 million devices have been sold. If you’ve used one, know that they have played a role in service to our country.
Pick your choice
The device isn’t one-size-fits-all. There are different styles for men, women, and children. Stores also have them for various sports, including skiing, and they can choose from four different colors, too. Most stores keep these long-lasting devices for more than a decade. With easy access to this helpful tool, we recommend checking your shoe size before each purchase. Get the best fit and enjoy wearing your shoes.
