The doctors at PodiatryCare, PC and the Heel Pain Center want you to step away from your computer and get moving. Many people in our nation are working remotely right now. While the meetings and phone calls continue, our focus on foot and ankle health should continue, too. It can be easy to work without a break or a chance for some fun movement, but we’ve got three quick, fun ways to get moving and improve your foot flexibility.

Turn on the tunes

Who doesn’t love music? Find your music, take a break, and get moving. Whether you’re tapping your feet or reminiscing on old choreography, have fun and use this opportunity to flex and stretch your toes.

Stretch your toes

Before you start your workday, begin with flexing and pointing your toes. Simply sit on your floor or bed and flex your toes toward you. Hold the flex to feel the calf stretch. Then, stretch your toes away from your body. Alternate them in a back and forth motion; then, switch legs. After a night of rest, this is a great way to start your day.

Grab a towel

Use familiar items in your home to stretch. For this exercise, grab a towel. While seated and with your legs extended in front of you, place the towel around the toes of one foot. You are now able to hold the towel with both hands. Next, pull the towel toward you and hold this pose for 20 seconds. Release and repeat three times. Then, switch feet.
